RACCOONS - CUTE BUT DANGEROUS
Raccoons are also very unfriendly and very capable of causing severe injuries to humans or domestic animals who corner them, whether accidentally or otherwise. They may look cute, but they're definitely not the kind of tenants you want living in your home.
RACCOONS & HEALTH RISKS TO HUMANS
In addition to being potentially aggressive (especially females when they are defending their young), raccoons also present serious health risks. They can cause odor problems and health hazards by way of their droppings, urine, and parasites.
Raccoons also have one of the highest rates of rabies of all animals in Missouri. If you come across a wild raccoon (especially one who's out and about during daylight hours or who seems friendly or apathetic), stay clear and report it to your local wildlife authority. There's a pretty good chance that it's sick.
